Wessling (Germany), 19 September 2017 – True to EMO 2017’s theme ‘Networked systems for intelligent production’, CAM/CAD manufacturer OPEN MIND is debuting hyperMILL® VIRTUAL Machining, a key component for implementing digital production systems. The simulation solution creates a perfect virtual rendering of reality in the machine based on NC data. Built with Industry 4.0 in mind, the tool generates a bi-directional communication link between the machine control and the hyperMILL® VIRTUAL Machining Center, thus delivering a new level of process control and optimisation.
The aerospace industry is one of the most technically challenging industries in the world. There are growing pressures to look at new manufacturing methods to reduce production times and increase efficiency. One of the determining factors in the production chain is the choice of the right CAM solution. Reduced machining times with high material removal rates of up to 95 per cent require state-of-the-art CAM solutions. OPEN MIND, a leading developer of CAM/CAD-Software, offers with its CAM system hyperMILL® intelligent solutions to meet the challenges rising in the aerospace industry.
OPEN MIND will demonstrate hyperMILL® 2017.1 at SOLIDWORKS World from February 5 to 8 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. SOLIDWORKS World is the annual gathering of the SOLIDWORKS community to learn and share experiences. OPEN MIND is a Gold partner for its integrated hyperMILL® CAM software, meeting the requirements of integration, user interface and seamless data access.
BMW AG has introduced OPEN MIND Technologies AG, developer of the CAM system hyperMILL®, as one of its CAD/CAM software suppliers. Following multi-phase benchmark tests, the modular hyperMILL® complete CAM solution won over the IT department at the BMW Group and the experts in tool engineering, prototyping and series production.
