With the release of HyperConnect, Makino offers a suite of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications for electrical discharge machines (EDMs) that enhances user experience and efficiency, and reduces machine downtime. Available on all Makino EDMs equipped with Hyper-i control systems, HyperConnect enables shop managers and operators to easily monitor and control EDM processes from any PC, smart device or other Hyper-i control systems on the network.
Makino is pleased to present its next-generation EDGE-Series machines, the EDGE2 and EDGE3, to the U.S. manufacturing market. Built for general precision machining applications, both electrical discharge machines (EDM) provide accurate and reliable performance for standard die/mold components or contract manufacturing with a space-saving design for shop floors of any size.
The integrated electro-discharge dressing technology WireDress ® opens up brand new possibilities for grinding with metal-bonded grinding wheels and drastically cuts auxiliary times. According to Fritz Studer AG, it has been possible to increase grinding power in the grinding process by 30% and reduce grinding wheel wear by 70% in comparison with ceramic and resin bonds. Grinding wheels with very intricate contours can also be dressed.
