In a move designed to greatly improve efficiency and quality in CAM operations, CoroPlus® ToolLibrary and PrimeTurning™ method from Sandvik Coromant have been integrated in Mastercam® 2018. The CoroPlus suite of connected solutions provided by Sandvik Coromant facilitates digital machining and the transition of the manufacturing industry into Industry 4.0. Mastercam is the first CAM software to integrate solutions for both CoroPlus ToolLibrary and PrimeTurning technologies.
SOLIDWORKS has different licensing options designed to meet the varying needs of customers and users. In the software industry, licensing generally falls into one of two categories; perpetual licenses (i.e. purchase to own, with optional subscription service) and term licenses (i.e. pay as you use, or ‘rent’ the software for a specific period, such as 90 or 360 days). SOLIDWORKS has offerings in both of these categories and customers can use either or both of these options depending on their needs.
ModuleWorks, one of the leading suppliers of CAD/CAM software components for machining and simulation, and ZEISS, an internationally leading technology enterprise operating in the fields of optics and optoelectronics, are developing a solution that combines conventional CAM and the requirements of ultra-precision machining in a single CAD/CAM system.
It was January and the streets were covered in thick layers of ice. One chilly morning, while shoveling snow in my front yard, I have managed to successfully fracture a bone in one of my fingers. I could immediately envision the struggles of being bound in plaster for the coming weeks: trying to bathe with my arm covered in plastic bags, the constant itching and the everyday nuisance of getting dressed properly. On my way to the emergency department, I was wondering if it would be possible to get rid of the annoyances of traditional plaster casts by creating a weblike 3D printed cast?
EOS, the world’s leading technology provider for industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, presents EOSPRINT 2.0, the newest version of its comprehensive AM (Additive Manufacturing) CAM environment. Together with data preparation software like Siemens NX™, or Magics, the new EOS software provides an intuitive user interface, offers customers greater freedom for application-specific parameter optimization and allows easier part optimization – leading to increased productivity and part quality. EOSPRINT 2.0 is now available for metal systems EOS M 290 and EOS M 400. Future iterations will include support for all current EOS metal systems and future polymer systems.
The new 2017.2 Version of the hyperMILL® CAM suite now provides a number of improved machining strategies, such as 3D-optimised roughing and programming aids such as T-slot feature detection. In addition, the CAD software hyperCAD®-S has been given a new module for the production of electrodes for die-sinking.
