The First Mazak OPTIPLEX with a Direct Diode Laser OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL

Yamazaki Mazak Corporation has announced the start of domestic sales of the OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL which is a new laser cutting machine equipped with state of the art laser technology – the Direct Diode Laser.

The Direct Diode Laser is the next generation laser technology succeeding the traditional CO2 and fiber laser generation systems. Higher speed cutting than a CO2 or fiber laser of thin and medium-thickness work sheets including highly reflective materials is made possible by a shorter wavelength and higher heat absorption. Another considerable advantage of the Direct Diode Laser is that its energy conversion efficiency is four to five times higher than that of a CO2 laser.

Using these characteristics of the Direct Diode Laser, the OPTIPLEX 3015 DDL delivers superior performance with high-speed and high energy-efficiency cutting. The Multi-Control Torch and the variety of Intelligent Functions provide incomparable operator support and the optimum machine efficiency. Additionally, the new MAZATROL PreviewG CNC delivers high speed and high accuracy cutting as well as increased ease of operation thanks to the large 19” touch screen.

Overseas sales of this new machine started in 2016 when it was exhibited at EuroBLECH held in Germany and FABTECH 2016 held in the U.S.A. Domestic sales started when it was displayed during the ‘’MAZAK Laser Technology Fair’’ event held at the Minokamo World Technology Center on Mar. 2ND and 3RD.
