Learn How to Get Connected and Leverage the Power of IIoT at Okuma’s Technology Showcase

Machine tool users are invited to attend Okuma’s annual showcase to learn how to boost spindle utilization and use data to increase efficiency and profitability.

Okuma America Corporation, a world leader in CNC machine tool manufacturing, presents “Get Connected. Put IIoT to Work For You,” at their annual Technology Showcase. The event takes place Tuesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Machine tool users will learn the benefits of connecting their shop floor and using data to raise efficiencies, expand capabilities and advance business. Participants will also view cutting demonstrations on more than 20 machine tools and see how breakthrough technologies can give them a competitive edge.

Learning Sessions

  • Blaser Liquid Tool Analyzer: All coolants are not equal in their performance. Learn how to improve tool life, surface finish, and speed up metal removal rates by using the right coolant.
  • IIoT, Predix: IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and GE Predix provide real time, unfiltered machine tool information. This session will give insight into GE’s Brilliant Factory and the tools that are available to harness shop floor data to increase efficiencies.
  • OSP suite and ECO suite, App Store: Okuma’s OSP suite and ECO suite make using and navigating Okuma’s OSP control easier than ever before. These will be introduced in this session along with the availability and creation of App’s to perform many common tasks.
  • Smart Tool: Velocity will share how tool holders and tooling can be mated to each other so their individual frequencies blend into one fully assembled and balanced preset solution using BlueSwarf technology. This results in faster metal removal while prolonging tool life and improving surface finish.
