- CHIRON’s OPEN HOUSE will take place from March 9 to 11, exhibiting innovative technologies and applications for the greatest precision and dynamics
- Machine innovations and 50 machine centers in live demonstrations
- More than 30 co-exhibitors from the whole range of the “cutting production” process chain
CHIRON will present numerous innovative processing solutions at this year’s OPEN HOUSE in Tuttlingen on Wednesday, 9 to Friday, March 11. For example, the new FZ12 FX five-axis machining center with Heidenhain control will be introduced. Many practical application examples from different industries as well as software solutions for “Digitally Enhanced Machining” will round off the program. The machine builder’s software solutions range from programs and applications for machine and process data querying to plant and diagnostic tools for the analysis, monitoring and simulation of machining processes.
CHIRON DataLine: Monitoring software for production optimization
With the CHIRON DataLine, the machine builder shows a software solution for data collection, compaction and evaluation. The tool is for any output device (such as PC, smartphone or tablet) and provides decisive stimuli for optimizing your production processes.
The monitoring and diagnostic tool consists of several apps. These allow retrieval of machine and process data and information that can provide insights about machinery, tools, workpiece and resource states. The user thereby receives an overview of the most important information at any time, including machine status, the status of production processes, productivity or the produced workpieces. This allows users to optimize parameters as needed in a timely fashion.
In addition, users also receive messages in case of malfunctions that show them the cause so that they can quickly find solutions. CHIRON DataLine can be used on machine tools from a variety of manufacturers and can communicate with all current and common control types.
Simulation and virtual machine and process sequences with CHIRON ProcessLine
The ProcessLine software solution from Chiron is an essential component for the simple, fast and realistic simulation of the production on a machining center within the framework of turnkey processes. Through automated processes, it helps to shorten the programming time by up to 90 percent.
ProcessLine integrates geometry, kinematics and dynamics of a real CHIRON machining center with all functionalities into a continuous virtual process chain. The software used shows all the CNC cutting of the machine tool including integrated automation components. It thereby helps to make production processes efficient and economical. ProcessLine allows production to be reliably planned, tested and verified, because the program exactly simulates all process procedures that are to be subsequently run on the CHIRON machining center.
Numerous machine innovations
Once again, many innovations can be found among the 50 machining centers being used for live demonstrations. These include the completely reengineered series 12 and 18, the new FZ08 MT precision plus for greater accuracy and the MILL 2000 high dynamics with new dynamics package.
SCHERER-CHIRON manufacturing cell at the OPEN HOUSE for the first time
For the first time, all the members of the corporate group will present themselves at the OPEN HOUSE – that is, STAMA, Scherer and CMS will also be there along with CHIRON
Among the most recent successes of the cooperation within the corporation is a joint project between SCHERER Feinbau and Chiron that has already been shown at the EMO 2015 in Milan: There they presented to trade visitors an interface-free complete system from a single source for the highly efficient, automated and twin-spindle turning and milling of cylinder-head components.
Lecture from Trumpf Managing Director Dr. Prokop about “Production in Transition”
The highlight of the accompanying program is a lecture on Thursday afternoon by Dr. Ing. Heinz-Jürgen Prokop, Managing Director of Development and Purchasing at Trumpf Machine Tools as well as newly elected Chairman of the Board of VDW.
He will report about Trumpf’s developments and successes concerning the subject of Industry 4.0. In 2015 Trumpf entered into a five-year strategic cooperation on basic research relating to Industry 4.0 with the Stuttgart-based Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA.
Practical lectures on all three days
Many other practice-oriented lectures during the three days present interesting applications in various industries and fields of application to visitors.
Experience the Medical and Precision Technology Center and the Turnkey Center
During the whole time, employees are available for company tours, personal discussions and consulting about current projects.
Also in the in-house Medical and Precision Technology Center, engineers and technicians provide insights into how they develop and optimize top products and economical production processes together with customers.
In the 5,000 square-meter Turnkey Center, CHIRON professionals show turnkey overall solutions for the economical production of predefined components.
Partner exhibition and after-work users rendezvous
In addition, visitors can inform themselves about the products and services offered by the 30 co-exhibitors as part of the partner exhibition. The OPEN HOUSE will conclude, as it does every year, with the after-work users rendezvous with live music on Friday afternoon.
