Revenge is the name of the game in a new promotional film featuring Timo Boll and a KR AGILUS
The small robot was forced to cede victory at the table to the German table tennis star. Now the KUKA KR AGILUS is challenging Timo Boll to a rematch in a new promotional film. The online release of “The Revenge” took place on March 11– exactly one year after “The Duel” – at http://www.kuka-timoboll.com/.
Over the past year, the table tennis duel between a human and a robot has created quite a stir. The marketing production “The Duel” from the Augsburg robot manufacturer and systems integrator KUKA marked the opening of the new KUKA robot production site in China. It has been viewed over 6.3 million times on YouTube and has won numerous awards, including the “Red dot: best of the best” and the “iF Design Award”. After this exciting duel, it’s now time for revenge – and a new round of top-notch entertainment.
This time, rather than face off at table tennis, the KR AGILUS will prove its precision, speed and repeatability on a very special musical instrument. Once again, Velvet Media Design and director Matthias Zentner took on production. I will be pleased if the new KUKA marketing film, “The Revenge”, achieves similar results for the company and its standing as my first duel with the robot did last year,” explains Timo Boll.
The German table tennis pro has been brand ambassador for KUKA in China since 2014. Boll, who is one of the most popular German athletes in the Asian region, represents the Augsburg brand in his second athletic home.
