Drawing on its experience from over 10,000 installed vertical machining centres, DMG MORI has now completely redesigned the 3rd Generation of the DMC V series. Together with its smaller sister machines – the DMC 650 V, DMC 850 V and DMC 1050 V – the new  DMC 1450 V boosts the performance of the vertical machining centres from DMG MORI into a new dimension. The key feature that ensures the “Best in Class” status of this product line is its unique concept that comprises a highly-stable machine bed with an overhead slide unit, 28-percent larger linear drives and 25-percent larger ball screws; all in all the perfect framework conditions for maximum process stability. While the innovative thermal management, with cooling of the ball screw nuts and guides in all three linear axes, also ensures maximum component precision.

With the world premiere of the DMC 1450 V DMG MORI will be presenting a new construction size in the field of vertical machining centres at the AMB in Stuttgart. Travel paths of 1,450 x 700 x 550 mm and the large fixed table with a clamping surface of 1,700 x 750 mm and loading capacity of 2,000 kg allow the machining of an extensive range of components. Like the other machines in this series, the standard equipment of the DMC 1450 V includes a 14,000 rpm basic spindle with a torque of 121 Nm, rapid traverses of up to 36 m/min and a 20-pocket tool magazine.

As the largest version in the series, the DMC 1450 V not only offers maximum travel paths, a multitude of options also make the vertical machining centre a productive helper in every production hall. Where the spindles are concerned there is an SK50 303-Nm spindle available for heavy machining, for example, and the tool magazine can be expanded to hold up to 120 tools.

In order to enable ergonomic and intuitive operation for the users, the DMC 1450 V, like all new high-tech machines from DMG MORI, comes in the manufacturer’s new joint design and equipped with CELOS. The latter ensures the fastest way from the idea to the finished product, while the CELOS APPs allow consistent management, documentation and visualisation of order, process and machine data. As an alternative to the large 21,5“ ERGOline® with CELOS, the product line is also available with a 19“ ERGOline® with HEIDENHAIN TNC640 or Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline.
